AIToC
The goal of AIToC was to develop an integrated toolchain for manufacturing engineering that supported decision-making in early phases. To achieve this, the toolchain facilitated the formalization and automated analysis of requirements, the computer-aided generation of process plans, simulation models, and instructions, as well as the software-supported creation of layouts.
In all of these areas, Artificial Intelligence was utilized in expert systems and simulations based on data from existing solutions. The project also focused on enhancing the interoperability of engineering tools by developing standardized neutral data formats.
OpenPLX was (with the temporary name BRICK) one of the main exploitable results of the AIToC project.
